My name is Shannon Bayham, and I am a Professional School Counselor serving all students with the last name starting with E - M at Assumption High School. I have had the pleasure of being at Assumption High for 4 ½ years. and I'd like to tell you a bit more about myself and how I will be working with your child this school year!
I have been working as a School Counselor since 2011 and have experience working in both middle and high school. After graduating from high school in Lafayette, LA, I attended Louisiana State University and received my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education in 2008. I then earned my Master of Education Degree in School Counseling Nicholls State University in 2011. In my free time, I love spending time with my husband and our 3 dogs, traveling, running, gardening, and baking.
This year at Assumption High School I will be meeting with every student, one-on-one, at least once. The purpose of these meetings is to check-in with the student, monitor their academic progress, and provide information about graduation tracks/requirements, TOPS, as well as college and career options. During the meeting we also discuss future goals, existing problems or obstacles, and start/maintain a plan towards graduation. I would like to extend an invitation to all parents/guardians to attend one of these Individual Planning sessions with your child and myself. If you would like to make arrangements to attend your child’s Individual Planning session with the School Counselor please contact me ASAP, as I schedule these meetings early in the school year!
Take a look around my webpage! You'll find information and resources pertaining to High School and College & Career Readiness. If you need to contact me with any questions, concerns, or suggestions I can be reached by phone at 985-369-2956 ext. 2211 or via email at [email protected]. I am happy to speak with you about your child’s academic or social progress.
I am excited to be starting a new school year at Assumption High School and look forward to working with your son or daughter!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Shannon J. Bayham
